The sweet, or bitter cup?

It’s always ours to choose the way
Of ease or upper flight;
To be or not to be today,
To win or loose the flight.

So up with courage to the race
Can others, so can I.
They struggled hard to set the pace
I win or else I die.

And on before the laurals wave
My courage to renew,
Up then among the true and brave.
