Some may say that you have left us
Never, never to return,
But the sadness we are suffering,
Brings a lesson we must learn.
We must learn that life is fleeting;
And its joys will soon decay,
That our parting like our meeting,
Sure, shall be while here we stay.
But the Lord of lords has promised,
If we put our trust in Him,
That we’ll meet to live forever,
In a home prepared by Him.
Oh! How weary, weary, waiting,
Till our Lord himself will come,
And the love that’s unabating,
Shall bid His ransomed come.
